Draft Breakdown: Round 15, waiver-wire, trade targets

So you&#8217;re recommending buying Grant Anderson and selling AJ? I&#8217;ll do the other side of that trade.

Last week was a solid waiver week with most players going well apart from Josh McGuire who managed to get injured again.



The obvious top waiver priority, Ezra Mam, stood up for those that were lucky enough to get him and looks to be one of the best waiver options for the year.



I mentioned last week that I was worried about players leaving clubs who had interim coaches, especially Luciano Leilua and Euan Aitken.



Luciano was given an early shower at the Tigers, but with his recent release to the Cowboys, he is very much a hold and even a potential trade in target.



Below are players that are owned in less than 35% of leagues that are worth targeting.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">TOP WAIVER PRIORITIES</h2>



Grant Anderson



Grant Anderson was pretty close to the last man left standing for the Storm and played a great debut game on the wing against the Roosters.



He scored 84 points with two tries andlooked very good.



He is a chance to hold his spot even with Papi’s return as the other Storm winger, Iremia, has had his issues with defence.



The only concern I have was his 22 points in base but I&#8217;m happy to take him in the Storm team, and given how much Papi creates for his wingers.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">VALUE WAIVER PRIOTIES</h2>



Jayden Su’A



Su’A returned last weekend from injury and played 57 minutes for 62 points, which included a try.



His base stats are fluctuating a lot this season and it doesn’t correlate with how many minutes he gets.



Su’A is averaging 54 points over seven games but what is impressive is that his average includes two sin bins and an injury affected game.



He looks damaging on the field, averaging 7.4 tackle busts per game and is one of Dragons few attacking weapons.



Moses Leota



Leota is a frustrating SuperCoach Player because he looks so damaging and good on the field, but he does get the occasional sub 40 score if he doesn’t bust tackles or plays a little less minutes than usual.



If he just got a few more minutes a little more consistently he would be more highly owned.



The good thing is that during the origin period he does play more minutes as the origin stars’ workloads are managed and can be a reliable FRF option.



Jayden Brailey



The Knights released an update where they stated Jayden is back training with the squad and is expecting to play his first NRL game of the season in the coming weeks.



He averaged 59 PPG last year and 58 PPG the year before, playing mostly 80-minute games.



Coming back from such a serious injury and with no preseason he will start slow but hopefully he is playing 80 minutes by the end of the year.

Brenko Lee



Brenko has struggled to get a spot in an NRL team for two years but gets his shot due to the long-term pec injury to Herbie Farnworth.



A lot of us will remember his attacking ability he showed at the Bulldogs when he averaged 57 PPG in 2017 and 53 PPG for the Titans in 2018.



It’s been a long time since those scores, but he is still only 26 years old and comes into a good attacking team.



The try assist we saw against the Raiders last weekend shows how threatening he can be.



The fitness and his work rate will be key for him going well.



Connelly Lemuelu



Lemuelu is a good short-term option with Luki’s injury and before Luciano likely comes into the side next week.



In 57 minutes last week, he scored 82 points and 41 points in base stats – very impressive.



Lemuelu is available at CTW and could be a great short-term option this week.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Trade IN Targets</h2>



William Kennedy



Kennedy is averaging 53 PPG at fullback for the Sharks and but has a shocking three round average of 22 PPG and five round average of 34 PPG thanks to a send-off and poor game.



If you take out those two games, he is averaging an impressive 65 PPG and obviously playing for a team that could put up some big scores.



Additionally, the Sharks draft finals run is the best in the comp, playing the Dragons, Tigers, Manly, Bulldogs and Knights.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Trade OUT Targets</h2>



Alex Johnson



Johnson has a three-round average of 80 PPG thanks to three tonnes in the last four weeks.



Earlier in the year, his average for the first nine rounds was 52 PPG, thanks to Souths tough start.



Souths finish the season with arguable the worst draw of the entire team. From round 19, Souths play the Storm, Sharks, Warriors, Eels, Panthers, Cowboys and the Roosters



On any given week, he could throw up a really poor score due to his low base stats.



He has always had periods of relevance in SuperCoach but last year was the first year you’d feel comfortable playing him every week.



Jackson Hastings



Hasting has performed ok with a 49 PPG for a dual HFB and 5/8.



Hastings has not been shy in his feelings and loyalty for Madge and now that he has gone, his SuperCoach output may dip.



I don‘t think it’s a coincidence he scored 21 points last weekend, his lowest score of the year, the week after Madge is sacked.



There’s a good chance he signs with another club for next year and subsequently loses game time with the Tigers towards the end of the year.
