Croker’s Call: SCPB eye top spot as SuperCoach season ends

Canberra Raiders captain Jarrod Croker reveals his NRL SuperCoach tactics for Round 25.

Croker's Call

Well another SuperCoach season is over and done with, and it’s been a blast.

It’s been a difficult one for many reasons, but enjoyable nonetheless.

For the Stockmen it’s been a season of improvement in our second year in the game.

While we haven’t set the world alight, we’ve had a respectable year.

Round 24 delivered a reasonable score of 1,324 points to sit just over 9,000th overall.

Tom Trbojevic delivered once again as captain, while Cody Walker and Alex Johnston both went large for me.

I’m fielding 17 players this week and can hopefully aid the SC Playbook’s bid to boost from third to first place overall in league rankings.

We aren’t far off the mark, so with things going our way we might be able to make the big move and take league glory.

My season hit its greatest heights in Round 3, where a round rank of 126th pushed my overall rank to just below the top 1,000.

I also had a round rank of 928th in round 6 which was another highlight.

I snuck into the SC Playbook head-to-head finals, somehow, so that was another goal ticked off despite the first round finals exit.

I’m out of trades this week unfortunately so there’s not too many decisions to be made.

Captaincy wise, while it’s tempting to have a throw at the stumps with a left field choice in the final round, I can’t bring myself to not skipper Tom Trbojevic.

The risk of falling out of the top 10k would be a killer…

My vice-captain will be Nicho Hynes who gets an opportunity to start again with Melbourne resting a heap of players.

That’s it for the season, it’s been fun, and hopefully the improvement continues into 2022.

Good luck to everyone in the final round and thanks for another terrific season!
